Default Custom air intake

I had an idea for a true cool air intake. I cant because of the s/c, but maybe someone might want to make there own. Here's the idea, drop the radiator 4 inches, and run a straight pipe from the tb to in between the grill and the readiator, sort of like the camaro/vette set up. its a straight run for the most part, and youll get real cool air, not engine temp air. I figure youll need 2 Ferncos, either 3" or 4" id sewer pipe(about 3ft,just in case), and a small cone filter from a FI mustang( there about $30). I cant see it costing more than $60, but you will need E-fans in order to do that.
What do you guys think? No bends, meaning less air turbulance, and real cool outside air, not 190* engine compartment air.

How do the Fbodies get around the rain problem? You would also need some kind of extension for the MAF sensor, but I am not sure how you would lower the radiator. That would be the hardest part by far.
