Question Cost for around 400hp out of a 5.3?

Currently have a 5.3. Has corsa exhaust and a diablosport trinity.

What do I need to do to get in the 400 range?

Would I have to do some tranny work as well? (Have a stock 4L60e)

And most importantly. Cost. How much would it be to put my truck at the 400hp range??

I want to stay naturally aspirated, and I'm trying to keep cost under 1500-2000, But what it is-it is.

If anyone in SWFL recommend a place to get this done I would appreciate that!

Thanks everyone

You can probably stay in that range if you do your own labor.
22x Cam, long tubes, and a good tune should get you close, depending on your gearing and tire size. Trans will not survive, could probably get a little more life from a 40k cooler, corvette servo, and some sort of shift kit. I'd also recommend a set of 4.10s or 4.56s, depending in your tire height.

NX Proton kit for $445....cheapest HP you can get. and its still ike having a stock truck when its turned off. And you can fully uninstall it with no traces of it ever being on there.

I agree with green sierra. A cam and long tubes and a tune might get you close to 400 flywheel but not at the tires

That trans will crumble to pieces. I would start beefing it up first.

Ya 400 at the wheels with a 5.3 is going to need a big cam, and maybe heads. My suggestions were for engine hp not to the wheels.
