Default correct/incorrect operation of a dyno?

I was wondering how you should ensure your truck be ran on the dyno with various mods. Things like gear selection, engine mod differences (i.e. blower, turbo, N2O), how to spool it up, things like that.

I now there are plenty of dyno savvy owners around here, thanks for your input

most will pick either 2nd or first gear to pull in. then they will usually set a speed or rpm range for the truck.

Another thing you have to consider is the rear tires slipping......

Also the set up is actaully critical when it comes to placement on the rollers and the tie down procedure that each operator uses. Not that it is important for "one" test, but if you plan to go back and measure your gains it becomes critical.

Umm, know your 'critical speed' would be my only input.
