converting to e85???

Thats about it, but since your truck in not flex fuel, to get max gains from it, you would need to delicate the tune and JUST run E85. A tune that runs both gas and E85 gives up something on both fuels.

To run on E85 you need to move your fuel tables up a 1/3rd, and tune from there. Also I would advance the timing out to roughly 32 degrees to take advantage the high octane rating of E85. E-85 is racing gas at the pump it can support up to 14-1 compression. Also according to a car craft article I read E85 is very forgiving about running lean to much timing, and some other engine killers. Also its a excellent highboost fuel since you can keep timing high and gain quite a bit extra Hp for FREE.
But if you switch to E85 your stuck with it till you re-tune for gas.
Is your truck one of the flex fuel trucks? If it is then your job is much easier, but flex tuning can not do as good as a single fuel tune.

i am curious about which which vehicles are flex fuel. my 02 was never advertized as flex fuel but inside the fuel door there is a warning not to use any additives on E85 fuels. so does this mean it was made to run E85?
