my truck tows great with the yank 3000. no problems. i wouldn't go any higher. wouldn't go any lower. if you are going to spend that kind of money, get the best you can get for performance, w/o hindering the driveability

What do you mean "w/o hindering the driveability?" Seems to me like that would be relative to whoever is driving.

i'd figure that anything with a higher stall would not be practical for the everyday driver. probably a good choice if you were drag racing only. but i feel the yank 3000 has good road manners, makes driving comfortable and easy with that stall.

So it brake stalls right at 3000?
How does it feel, accelerating, from a roll and then stomping it...from a complete stop and stomping..etc.?

i haven't brake stalled it yet. with a torque convertor there really is no need to brake stall. i accelerate both ways, feathering it then WOT, and straight stomping on it. of course stomping on it from a complete stop will turn the tires loose. a quick stomp will cause the RPM's to jump to ~3000 or so and then you launch pretty good, and get a nice whiplash. when it shifts to 2nd gear, it does so at a pretty high RPM, which keeps you in that high end power range. before you know it, you are doing 60-70 mph. the TC is harder to notice from a roll. especially when you're used to it (TC)
