what fast 4.8 said is true.my regular predator tune was ok.it wasnt until i got the custom tune that i had problems.i believe it was the inconsistency that i didnt like the most.then the shifting went south and the idle couldnt figure itself out.i have my westers now.6 tenths is awsome especially on 87 octane tuning. i had 89 in it when i made my runs.i am totally happy with my westers.when i am just cruising its like it is factory.but when i get on it look out.and it is very consistent.19mpg on the highway doing 80.if you want a handheld then go predator.my opinion is that the best performance and drivability is westers. good luck to all.

Wow, I'm really glad I bought something everyone NOW thinks is a POS! Oh well chalk another one up to live and learn. As of right now I have had very little difficulty with the Predator. I have not fried my pcm and James always gets back to me when I do have questions (wich is rare). I guess all tuners are not the best for everyone. Edit would be great if you can afford the $550.00 and have a laptop to use and are somewhat computer literate. I think as people develope the tuners, they steal the best from each unit and use it in their own. The capatalistic way will always drive the industry no matter what you are selling. If only there were someone on this site who would develope or help develope and market a tuner as a Chevy only expertly tuned type programmer. Ha... wishful thinking. Some day maybe....

Well I have'd had 3 tunes and posted my experiences throughout the whole process so I'm sorry you missed them as for prolly alot of others but this site is the reason I bought it in the first place so I didn't want to critize the predator until it was repeatidly out performed on the track, were it matters to me. On the street the sop meter isn't enough for me to judge whether or not this programmer is worth it or not so if people are happy with there's, great.

Here is what I hear,
Diablo can screw you
HPP3 - does not do enough
Westers - is tops so far

Question
Has anyone played with SuperChips yet
I see alot of advertising for them
but see no one on the post using them.
Just throwing this out there.

This is probley one of few negative posts about the predator that most of the people responding don't even own one. The predator has been the best investment on my truck, the diablo tune I didn't even bother changing it was so spot on. And if you want to compare to westers why not compare to ed wright as well, westers isn't a handheld programmer, and I wouldn't trust ed wright with even with someone elses truck let alone my truck. So if $400 means the world to you go buy a hypertech (alex) don't bother with anything on a serious level like diablo or edit cause thoes can only be used on one VIN. So I hear LS1 speed is going to have dyno tuning and reflashing with the predator. Cause a few PCM inputs are adjustable with the predator (bright side) and can be removed so you can get BS warranty work done (can't remove edit). So having a data list and obd II code reader as well, you can't get a brand name obd II scanner for under $400.

I have the a SuperChips handheld and I like it. Definitely an improvement over stock. I don't think that it is as powerful as Predator though. I don't have another handheld programmer to really compare the SuperChips to but with a almost stock truck, like mine, it works.
