Default confused about track times

Ok here's the deal, I have ran the truck 8 times before tonight, it ran between 9.97 and 10.06 in the 1/8th. It has been very consistent. I did the throttle body bypass, egr trim, and cut the cats out. I get to the track, sit in line for about 10 minutes, pull in the lanes, and pretty much pull straight out on the track, I ran a 9.86, pulled straight around, and ran a 9.86 again. Im thinking ok I gained a .10, this was at about 85 degrees, and very high humidity. I waited about an hour and a half, to let it cool down, thinking I might get a little quicker, WRONG, this time it ran a 10.00, I was pissed, so I went right back around and this time ran a 9.95. I just don't understand why, I ran a quicker time, in the heat. Anyway, I have to get a tune, the Hypertech is outta here. I don't know what I am going to do, my wife said if I spend any more money on this truck she is going to shoot me. Oh well, I guess I will have to take the bullets out I am an addict, and can't control myself.

What were your 60' times? Did the 10.00 run have a higher time? What was the mph? Maybe you spun a little after letting it cool down, it is not even a full tenth, so I dont know why you are being skeptical. Maybe the best it will go is a 9.86, it wont do it every time.

You are talking about covering a distance of 660' in a 4500lb vehicle with times varying only 5-14 HUNDRETHS of a second and worrying about "consistancy" ??? There are about 10,000 variables which could have caused this minor discrepancy. Don't worry, be happy.

P.S. Congrats on the new best!

Yea be happy! You can be pissed after you spend over 3k in tranny work and only drop a tenth. Trust me it hurts. Besides you shouldnt worrie about it if your not bracket racing any ways.

Noooo. Be pissed after you swap cams, tune it, and do exhaust and slow down a 1/2 sec. then you get pissed.
