Default Computer going out?

I've got a 1996 Tahoe 4x4 with the 5.7l vortech engine.
I am having problems with my truck not starting up. This only seems to happen if the car has been sitting for a period of time. Let's say 8-24 hours without starting it.
When I try to go start it, it takes almost 15 minutes for it to crank back up. I have turn the key and slowly press the accelerator up and down. After about 15 minutes of doing this the truck starts back up. The idle is bad for awhile, but my guess is the car was flooded from me trying to turn the engine over.
Could the computer be going bad? to where it doesn't keep it's memory for a period of time?
The truck has 176,000 miles on the car, but about 45,000 on the new motor.
The fuel pressure reg. was changed out along with the knock sensor.Wires and plugs, cap, rotor have been changed as well.

Thanks guys,
Jeremy

Sounds like a leaky injector assembly. Those things are bad about leaking down and flooding the engine just like you are describing. I would bet money that you need a new injector assy.

I have seen on a 4.3l where the distributor gear and timing chain were worn to the point where the distributor would crossfire (cam retard -19). And on a 4.3l the distributer is not adjustable. on 305 and 350 you have to adjust the cam retard with a scan tool, turning the distributor till you have 0 cam retard + or - 1.
