Default Comp XR265HR for a 4.8?

What's the thoughts on this cam for my trucks 4.8? Stock size tires (30 tall), 3.73 gear, stock trans/converter with corvette servo. I'm putting fresh 862 heads on it with LS6 springs with a cam change and wonder if this would be a good cam for daily driver plus to pull my 18ft bass boat on occasion? Exhaust is currently stock with a Flowmaster muffler in place of the stock one and Magnaflow Hi-Flow cats on it but stock manifolds. I plan on putting long tube headers on it shortly after the cam change. A wholesale warehouse I buy parts from has this in stock so I'm considering it.

Also would the stock pushrods be OK? I plan on shaving a few thousandths off the heads when I have them freshened.

Use pushrod length checker for your pushrods.
That's a great cam for what you're looking to do with it, just installed one in my truck and couldn't be happier.

Did you change the torque converter or stick with the stock one? I just got a header kit from DNA off Ebay and hopefully around the end of this month I'll be making the change.

Stock for now. It's not bad... definitely no worse on the bottom end than the stock cam + stock exhaust. Will eventually be adding a 2800 stall.

(this is with stock 3.73 gears)

I would suggest doing the cam and LT headers + y pipe at the same time. You don't need to, but it makes it easy to only tune it once.

Also... I didn't clarify but definitely replace your pushrods with hardened ones. Stock pushrods aren't a good idea. Check your required length with pushrod length checker.

I went ahead and bought a header/Y pipe kit off Ebay so I plan on doing it all at once. I'll probably use the stock pushrods for start up but replace them once I check the length as I bought a length checker. It's my daily driver and the only vehicle I have so I'll be borrowing a friends ride for 2 days while I do the swap. Pushrods I can change in probably an hour.
