Default come in 4.8 guys...

First, plan. Headers, offroad Y, magnaflow catback, 22's, and 3.73's, small stall, and a sleeper cam.

I have been looking at thunder racings cheater cams, while those may be good sleeper cams for the 5.7 and 6.0, i don't think my little 4.8 can even breath that much. So i guess my question is what would be a good sleeper cam for the 4.8?

Also, perhaps in the future, if money allows, FI will be added....

Personally i would go with 20's if you want a big wheel and 4.10s.... The 4.8 has really crappy lowend TQ, at least in my RC.. I can't even imagine what it is like in a NNBS Crew Cab... As far as cams, i can't help you, i like to go bigger and noticeable on my cam search criteria...

4.8s like to breathe... they make great power REALLY high... problem is you have to have the valvetrain to go that high. Mine made great low end, its all in the cam choice and headers.

I personally hated the Z06 cam in my 4.8L, I ran 5 different cams in it, Z06 all the way up to a 224/228 ~.580"... Had the best all around results from a 216/218 .535"/.535 114 it performed the best all around, drove great, idled nasty...

alright, lots of comments, where to start?

The wheels i am looking at, the 22's weigh 40 pounds apiece, the 20's weigh in at 37 pounds, not to much of a differance. The tires are 285/45-22, which comes up to 32.1 inches tall. The stock tires 245/70-17 come up to 30.5" tall. So i am only looking at 1.6 inches taller, which a 3.42 gear compared to my 3.23 currently installed would be a perfect trade. But i do want to go a little bigger, that is why i desided on 3.73's.

As far as no low end torque, the 3000 stall should get me off the line fast enough.

Still wondering about the cam though, i am not really interested in something that lopes, my wife drives the truck everyday (i drive company vehicle) so i need something that has great idle qualities (she doesn't want the truck to be shaking at every red light).

Thanks for all the replies BTW, keep em coming.
