Default Cold Air Intake

What cold air intake is or high flow intake is the best for an 03 5.3. I am looking at getting one soon. Just looking is what is the best for our trucks.

The power differences are negligible between all of them. Make your own...

P.S. The search function is your friend...

they're all the same, and there is no such thing as a cold air intake. LOL

i personally like the GMPP cai or the Volant

one with a closed filter element(GMPP, Volant, etc.) is better than one with an open filter element(K&N)

IMO, any with a dry filter. I just don't like worrying about getting oil on the MAF.

For the price versus the gains, I'd just make my own. You can use your stock box and if you have a dremel tool, grind down all of some of the louvers and imperfections inside it. Then you can either mod your stock intake tube or do like I did and buy the AirRaid MIT Tube. I got it for about 80 bucks. Got a true flow drop in filter and it works every bit as good as the full air raid kit I had on my other truck of the same model.

Like others said, go with a closed filter element.

I'll add this since alot are saying work on the stock intake.. you can do that and save bucks, but I wanted something that wasnt fugly like the stock box.. part of the reason I went with a aftermarket

then it doesnt look like every other stock truck lol
