Default Cold air intake?

Have the money to buy a intake but not sure which is the best one. I really like the looks of the smoke UPD. Does that come with a new filter? Also maybe volant or something else. Any help would be appreciated.

the upd is a very nice piece, but suffers from quality control issue's. the volant is pretty damn nice all the way around.

Yeah the UPD (mine did) comes with an AFE (IIRC?) filter, supposed to be maybe same/better than K&N. They said they switched from K&N filters to these for performance reasons.

I love my UPD, and I also cut my stock airbox lower portion. Ran 15's @ 96.6 on a gtech with this an HPP3. This in a heavy Yukon.

Well I guess that is what I am going with. Does anyone sale these or do you have to order them from the site. Just though I might get a better deal buying from a sponsor.

UPD sells them on their own website, and they are one of the sponsors here.

Here's their page, good luck with it:

If i could go back i would go with the Volent intake. It is the ONLY true cold air intake. The rest all have the air intakes high in the engine compartment and draw in hot air. The Volent pulls air from under the bumper, outside the engine compartment.

My UPD with modified lower airbox and removed stock metal mounting plate pulls cold from below the bumper.

If you get on the ground near the pass side front tire and look up you see the air filter. Left the corner of the airbox (towards the engine) in place to block hot air coming off the manifolds.
