I got mine replaced over a year ago and it has been fine since (over 30,000 miles). They lubed mine the first time I took it in and that only lasted about 2 months.

Is this a problem in all of the NBS 99 and up trucks. My 2000 has near 75k miles on it and I've never experienced this problem. (knocking on wood)

I noticed mine right after a dealer oil change (free oil changes for life). Since I had it there I had them do a tire rotation. I thought they may have bent something when the used the lift. But I am glad to hear it is quality issues, I think.

Anyway, thanks for the information.

they lubed mine 2 years ago and no more problem since. Same thing on our tahoe. Maybe they used magic grease or like the dealer said 'synthetic grease doesn't break down near as easy' both my trucks started that chit around 15k

I think you're right on the part about having to go back. My replacement shaft was put in about three weeks ago. At first, all was quiet, but after about a week, the clunking returned. So now they have gone back to lubing the shaft again, even the replacement ones?
