Default Cleaning MAF

What do you guys use to clean your MAF? Do you just spray across the wires, or do you actually wipe them with a Qtip or something? I am getting some "Jerk, Jerk" at part throttle in overdrive going highway speed. MAF may be the problem. Thanks.

I used carb cleaner on a q tip. you gotta be real careful with the little wires. my little wires were tan looking and the truck ran like it had an intake leak. I cleaned the whole thing and the truck ran great.

Not sure, but I know there is some electrical cleaning stuff in a can that you can spray on it and let dry.
What kinda help do you need tuning? I can send you my tune if yours is way off. I have my PE vs RPM in the 11.5 range, and Ltrims pretty negative, and running about 50 psi fuel pressure at idle. It's still a tiny bit rich, but pretty close. Sam

Yep, use electrical spray cleaner. They sell it in auto stores. I wouldn't attempt to wipe it. Just spray it on.

Thanks for all the suggestions, I shall give it a try. I have always been scared to touch those wires, but I am going to this time.

Sam that would be great. I would love to glance at your tune for some ideas. I am still waiting on my injectors from racetronics and I haven't had time to get my new FJO wired up yet. Hopefully this weekend!

Spray brake cleaner on it. Works like a charm.

does it make anyone wonder WHY we have to clean the MAF sensors ocassionally ??....I mean there IS an air filter before it isn't there ??

I have wondered this before when I had to clean my MAF......is there an air leak before the MAF somewhere or id it just stuff that makes to throug the filter that ends up on the wires ??
