**Question**There is a noise, sort of like a chirping or squeeking, that is coming from the belt and was wondering what it could be? I start up my truck and right after, I hear it coming from under the hood. I haven't removed the belt or any of the pullies on the truck so I don't think that my belt is loose. I do know that that could be a possibility. Anybody know what I could do or what this might be?

 

What of condition are your belts in? Also check your tensioners to see if the feel weak. I just replaced my ac compressor belt tensioner a few weeks ago for this reason.

 

I havent had to replace one, but I have had to lube up both tensioners on mine for the same reason. I have also had my ac compressor get some light surface rust on the clutch that caused a squeeky belt sound as well.

 

I will take a look at it tonight to see if it could be any of those.
