Default Changing rear diff fluid

When and what do you use when changing diff fluid on a 2002 2500 HD. The manual gives a recommended weight but does not say if friction modifier is necessary. Can anyone help me out here.

It probably has a gear meshing locker so probably not, but I am not sure, it would be best to check the manual again, it might be on another page or call the dealer but you probably don't want to wait until Tues...

Wait I have an even better idea, go ahead and buy all of the stuff and when you get the diff cover off you should be able to see if it has clutch packs or not, they have a bunch of little springs, if it has them then you should add the friction modifier, if not you can return it. Just an idea.
