cats or no cats
#15
A high flow cats flows roughly(depending on brand) 550 cfm.....stock cats flow around the 500 marker. However, for the more power....keep the cats, helps with scavaging from the engine to make more power and choose a muffler that flows better than 500 cfm to help your exhaust breathe.....it would be pointless to have a 500 cfm flowing cat with a 350 cfm flowing Flowmaster muffler. Borla, Magnaflow, and other flow over 600 cfm. Just my .02

i hear ya yenko, i have eld. shorties with the stock y pipe and a single in/out 40ser. b/f the axle. the flow is probably hurting my performance with the cfm like you said. when i come back i plan on putting an aero chamber in its place.
thanks for the info. gmchammer. those are good #'s with no headers. keep me posted on your progress to see what that 220's going to put down.
