I don't have a dyno results to give you but Random Technologies did a study and they found that High-Flow Cats actually make more power than straight pipes....due to the fact that it helps with backpressure and scavaging. Friend of mine with a 5.3 RCSB with a Magna supercharger took his cats off and he slowed down and so did his gas mileage. Hope this helps.

when i installed my 80e io put cats back on. it did not run as well. 14.39 was tops. yes i did a little bit bigger cam and installed my updated verter. but the difference was day and night. 13.79 all motor. i am running n2o as well and i think that is where it shines the most.

I noticed absolutly nothing but a rasp when took mine off. I ended up putting hem back on. No power differance, no sound differance etc....nothing. This was also running through my AS&M headers to a true dual system.

I was thinking about going with the long tubes and y pipe on sale from TSP but the y pipe removes the cats, do you think I could get by without them here in TX? I want to still be able to pass inspection.

No cats = No pass!! My buddy worked at an inspection shop so i passed cause he passed me but it is a pain in the *** to mess with it everytime inspection time rolls around. I wouldnt take them off but thats my opinion.

Yeah, thats what I thought. I have some friends that do inspections but it would worry me that one day I wouldn't know anyone to do it or something would go wrong. I think I'm just gonna stick to long tubes and no y pipe. It just seemed so much easier to install that way.

i hear yall,
i'm not looking for my exaust to be louder but to make more power.
as soon as i get back from overseas, i'm going home on leave and probably install the tr220 and have thunder tune it.

I had a hook up when i took mine off but of course, my buddy quit so i was then stuck with either paying an extra 50 bucks to pass it or put my cats back on. Easy decision for me. Im already looking forward to getting that sticker with no problems next year. lol
