Default Can I start my 408???

I just finished installing my 408.. Replaced my 4.8 with it...

My question is, can I start my new engine with the 4.8 tune just to make sure it fires and there are no leaks ect. Mods to the 4.8 were a tr220 cam, and long tubes... Nelson tuned. The mods to the truck are 2.5 prc's, 237/242 cam, lt's, and 11:1 stcr.

so.. can I start it and let it warm up??

IF it'll start. Cammed 408 on a 4.8 tune. that'll run like crap if it'll even run.

Personally I would wait. That is going to run very lean if it manages to start.

It'll fire, may hold a poor idle however i'd choose otherwise IMHO. Too many potential issues outweigh the benefits.

think a mail order tune with mild timing will suffice till I get it tuned properly?

If you have the same injectors and a MAF still installed, then you should be ok to start it.
