I have been looking at cams for several years for my 5.3 and pretty much decided on the TSP 220R. However, I came across a good deal (to me) for a LQ9. Now, I begin a new quest.
I was thinking that a comparable cam for the added displacement would be a 224/224 on a 112lsa. I know I am still restricted by the intake. What would be a good cam for an LQ9 if I want a WOT shift point of 6200 pm? Please keep in mind, the mods in the signature are making their way onto the 6.0.

you can go bigger, if you get heads then you will really want bigger. I just got that cam and it is not tuned yet...but I got a deal on mine so it was worth it, but the SSS (which has the LQ9) guys are going bigger 237ish but with heads and headers.

A 3200 stall will better match future heads and cam setups but not necessary for a 224 cam. I ran a 232/237 cam in my 5.3 and a TT3000, it was enough. Go with the 3200 if you want the absolute max out of your cam or if you know you will take your truck much further than a cam w/ bolt ons. Again, a 3200 isn't "needed" for a 224.
