Default Cammed 5.3L

alright here's my issue. I've searched for cam only 5.3L resutls forever and i'm mainly finding results and OP for cammed 5.7's. i blew the motor in my 01SS and i'm replacing it with a 5.3L from a 2001 silverado. Mods:

LS6 intake
LS6 TB
LT headers
3200 stall(looking to upgrade to a 3500)
4.10 gears
UD pulley
Ported Heads
150hp n2o(turbo set-up in the making)

car will be driven somewhat daily and will see a LOT of street action and some track action a few times out of the month. something in the 23x/23x was ideal for the 5.7 but how would this compare to the 5.3. i've been looking @ something close to 228/232 for the 5.3 but i've also notice some pretty decent numbers/times from some of you guys running 22x/22x w/ just a cam. i'm sure being that i'll be running a lighter vehicle and flowing more air with the ls6 i/tb that i'll be able to get away with a bigger cam but i dont want to put one it that's TOO big and i have to run a stall of around 4k. a 3500 would be fine but really dont want to be any bigger than that simply for driveablity puroposes

When mine had just a cam longtubes and a mail-order order tune it dynoed 341rwhp, no clue what it does now, with head and intake on it, but last time on the dyno it hit 440 rwhp on a 100 shot ,but had a nitrous backfire at 4800 rpms before i could hit the other 100. Oh and my cam is a 224/230 .581/.588 112lsa

I been thinkin on calling Texas Speed and asking them about a cam for a 5.3. I've been wondering what the biggest cam that can go into a 5.3 with extensive head work (going into an old Monte Carlo) but yielded little results.

I hear the TR220 is a very streetable cam, and I believe it's the 224/231 (?) that people have been calling good, but I think like me, you're looking for more. Good luck and if you find something out please let me know.

will be sure to do so, i've seen some good #'s with the 224/231 but i'm still considering going a little bigger like 228/232 atleast. The suspension on my car works damn good on the street so i really want a motor that will utilize it.

dunno if you're running n2o or how much but i'm going to try a 232/242 .580/.590 116lsa and see how it works, a lil bigger stall and prob bump up to a 200hp pill on a progressive kit
