How do you think this cam will idle on a 2000 5.3? Thunder Racing Custom Camshaft - 224/224 .563/.563 112 LSA. How much power should I get out of it? What do you think I would run with this cam and a nelson tune?

With the supporting boltons and tunning, I think that cam would scream in a 5.3 with about four degress advance ground in. Although the 112lsa is going to make tunning tougher in the auto. Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

 

What kind of boltons would a cam like that need? What would be the ideal lsa for that cam? 114lsa?

 

im going to do but i wanted a 114lsa so it would idle smooth but who knows will see.

 

Would there be a whole lot of difference in the "street manners" of this cam in a 5.3 vs. a 5.7? Mine idles fine in the LS1 with the stock truck program and way-too-big 31# injectors. Maybe the higher compression has something to do with that?
