Default RC 5.3 vs. EC 6.0

Which would win a 1/4 stock for stock and H/C?

I'd put my bets on the 5.3.

I have a RCSB 5.3, and have raced a EC 6.0 in the 1/4, and won. Both trucks only mods are a UPD.

I'd go with the 5.3 b/c it only has 15 HP less than the 6.0 but the EC has about what 500+ lbs?

not only that, you can only get the 6.0 in the 2500 and the frame and supension are heavier. its not even the fact that its EC, that only really adds about 160 pounds. Stock the RC wieghs about 4610 and the EC weighs about 4776 hope that helps.

And I think the Extra cab is little more than just 160 pounds!

a 16" longer driveshaft, 3 feet of frame rail, an extra seat, extra interior trim, extra sheetmetal, extra glass. I would think that 160lbs would be a little low for the weight difference seeing a 5.3EC runs about a second slower than a 5.3RC.

if your talking about the new 6.0 ec coming out soon for just a few months, i'd put my bets on that 6.0, i think all those should be 14 sec off the showroom floor.. maybe some freaks will show up and dip into the mid or low 14's..
