Default Cam and Long Tubes

I have a 99 ext. cab silverado. it comes stock with 270 hp. I've heard the 2000 and up have the 99 6.0 cam to make 285 hp, is this true? If so, could I do a cam swap without having to reprogram the computer?

I'm also looking into some long tube headers, I might be going with the asm long tubes. will the headers give me low end torque and high end hp? Those of you with these headers, do you know how much they will take off 0-60 and 1/4 mile times? Thanks in advance.

You will notice a big difference w/ a cam in your 99 truck. I have a cam in my 99, and have no programming. Pick one that gives you as much torque as possible, yet still runs well to 6000 rpms. I also gained 20hp & 20tq with headers.
