Default Cam help (because of yall)

I had my cam picked out until I started reading a thread that multiple members mentioned the horror stories with comp. Well guess which cam I had pick out? That's right, comp part number 54-418-11

What's a good replacement? I want the .534/.537 lift and 112 lsa

Head works already been done, not sending em back for more work to handle more lift. Z06 valve springs are installed. .540 is the limit of lift and I'd prefer to keep the price under 400

Thank you

You can have it cut however you want. What is this for? That cam is a 224/228 112+2

Yeah, not what I was asking. Thanks though.

Does any other company make a cam similar to the one stated in original post

So your saying you don't want a cam like that rather you want something off the shelf made by someone other then comp that's close? Or assuming you have 1.7 rockers you could Call cam motion and tell them you want a 224/228 112lsa 110ICL with a .315 intake and exhaust lobe. So it would be a 224/228 .535/.535 112+2

Sorry I don't memorize every companies specs when I can just get whatever spec I want cut for the same price.

Well, your first reply was next to helpless. I know you can call and have a cam ground to what you want. But why would I call and for a custom cam that they already produce?

Apparently comps quality control has gone down the drain. I'd rather not have my engine I've poured 3 grand into go poof because of a failing quality control department.

What I'm asking is, is there another cam that is made by another company that has similar specs. Ie does lunati (or another company) have a cam that is similar to comps in lift duration and lsa? Need I make it simpler to understand?

Haha. Try google. Just make sure in your endeavors to not get a cam from another company that just gets their cores from comp.

Much more goes into a cam than just lift and duration. There are different lobes and those lobes behave very differently when it comes to ramp rate, valvetrain noise, etc.

OTS cams are just that, OTS. They are massed produced and often times don't fit everyone's goals.

In your first post, you failed to list the application. Is this a truck or car? If this is a truck, is it 2wd or 4wd? Do you have gears? Stall converter?

Everything affects how the cam will perform. Custom spec'd cams have been proven over and over again to fit what the customers goals are. Just be realistic.

If you're trying to get your fix fast, then by all means get whatever OTS cam your heart desires. If you want something to perform better and that will meet your goals, then have Pat G, BTR or Cam Motion spec you a cam. It's a modest cost ($20-$40) and you'll be much happier.

In closing, your attitude toward the previous members' (one being an admin) responses, is absolutely not needed or wanted here.

If that's all you can come here to say when someone is trying to help you, take it some ******* where else.
