Default Cam Help!

Looks like my truck is headed to MTI in a couple of weeks for new heads and cam. I plan to go with the MTI Stage 2E heads. The cam I'm not sure on. They have recommended a couple. What do you guys think? Is my 'verter enough for the C2? Is the Stealth 1 too wimpy?

Their C2 cam is 224 224 .581 .581 112
Their Stealth 1 is 220 220 .581 .581 115

Here are my mods:
LQ9
Thorley Tri-Y header with high flow cats and FloPro HD muffler
Built tranny with Yank 2600, shift kit, and Vette servo
Cold air kit
3.73 rear gear (stock G80)
eFans
Nelson Tune

The truck ran 13.66 last time out. I want to get it in the 12s. Hopefully this will get it close. Give me some opinions. I know you got 'em!

personally I would not get heads but thats up to you....

my combo seems to work great, you should give it a try since I have the same motor and body style as you...

comp cam 226, full bolt-ons, 3900fuddle, 4.10s and Im running 12.5 n/a... (see sig for times..)

but if its between both of those cams, I would definately go with the 224...

dont know who does your tuning but if it is MTI then I would go somewhere else I have personally seen several trucks that are tuned from them and it sucks.... Charlie Wheatley tuned mine and I am very happy with the job that he does...

Thanks for the input. You have a strong truck. Allen Nelson does my tuning and I'm happy with his work. I like my current stall with the 3.73s, so I'm trying to keep them for now. If I tear something up, well thats a different story. BTW - why would you pass on the heads?

wouldnt the 2600 stall be to small for a 224 cam? From what I hear the 6.0's love bigger cams so a 224 would be the best bet. A 220 cam isnt wimpy either

as for heads, I was told that its kinda pointless to port truck heads unless you are going the blower route

I just havent seen no solid information saying that heads knocked off Xamount off you your e.t.??? all I see is RWHP gain... to me I dont care about rwhp I care about e.t.. especially for the $ I dont think it is worth it.... hopefully in the near future if I do heads they are going to be some stock LS6 heads, they flow the same as 317's but bumps up your compression... and they can be found at a decent price...

by the way MTI did that 220 cam on a 5.3 of a buddy of mine and it is a freak truck but with a 6.0 I would definately go atleast with a 224..

Thats 2 votes for no heads. Thanks for the help.

I think this converter actually stall a little higher than 2600. Maybe closer to 2800. Does that make sense? Maybe it is rated for 2600 on the 5.3.

I was under the impression you had a Fuddle 3200

Nice 'verter. If I had it to over again I would go 3000+. I got this one for towing, which I rarely do.
