no cats K&N intake and a magnflow muffler with a tune i ran 15.1 at 93mph
Added just the 212/218 cam and touched up the tune 14.7 at 97.7mph
This is with a 2.4 60ft best it would cut.
Its got the mph for high 13s just got to make it leave, reason i have a stall now
Its a good lil cam

Do you mean the Comp 212/218? Check some of our sponsors to the right, such as Texas Speed, possibly SDPC, and if they don't have that particular grind, google Comp Cams and shop around. You could check the classifieds here also, as mentioned it's a very popular cam. As mentioned, you should see substantial gains, my baby cam with tuning dropped me from 16.5@81.7mph to 15.6@89.5mph (runnin on 33's in full street trim, minus the spare on the faster run)

Search this section for 212/218 and you should find plenty of results. There was one thread in particular that had dyno results from this cam, on 87 octane I believe and the numbers were excellent

*EDIT* Here's NicD's thread with the dyno graph: https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...ight=212%2F218

sometimes less is more

Me, I'd only go as big as the 212/218 with the stock converter if you still want some low end torque, and honestly I'd personally throw a mild converter in there. Even my baby cam would benefit from a mild converter, even though it's not necessary. I'd think that stepping up to say a 216/220ish you'd at least want a 2600 converter to make the most of it.

Glad to help chubbz

I was planning a cam around a stock verter for a while and was either going with the 212/218 low lift or the slightly larger 216/220 (100RPM advertised difference in the low end).

But then after enough research, I changed my mind and decided I will first drop in a Circle D 3K-3200K modified TB stall and go with everyone's favorite recommendation for a heavy 5.3L (Tahoe) - the TR220-112.
