Default Cam gurus come in....

I am going to cam the truck sometime in the future (hopefully sooner than later). My question is that the 09 4.8 is 9.1:1 cr. I am looking at different grinds and I have a few questions. I know that the ivc, overlap, and lsa all effect the power and where it makes power. I also know that the dcr is important to get the most out of the setup, most usualy shoot for 8-9 on dcr.

examples.....

THe LSR 265
215/223 .604/.610 112 lsa
Exhaust: Closes20 ATDC Opens72 BBDC
Intake: 24 Opens BTDC 60 Closes ABDC

That cam would put the ddcr around 6.6

The XFI 266
212/216 .520/.524 115 lsa

Exhaust Closes-11 ATDC Opens 47 BBDC
Intake -5 Opens BTDC 37 Closes ABDC

That would put dcr around 7.8 or so.

I dont want a 115 lsa. I am interested though to find out some opinions on which cam between these would et better..sure the lsr is a little more aggressive but yields much less dcr, so what do you guys think.

The truck will be running a 3600-3800 verter btw.

LSr... The 112LSA with a 107ICL is going to bring the power band way down some. The lower the LSA the peakier the power curve, more throttle response, more lope, and more peak power too in most cases. The 8* duration split isn't exactly needed on a 5.3 b/c the exhaust flows 75% of the intake but it will still help. The HIGH lift is like free hp and tq everywhere. It will give you some down low as well as pull harder up top.

The 212/216 is more nicer calmer cam.

It was 318/28x i believe. For some reason my truck always dynos low but it performs at the track and has tons of midrange power which is what i wanted.
