Not really, all you should need for the fans is to have pin 42 grounded at the pre-determined turn on temp (if going with the simple 1 pin harness). The cam won't affect that.

Installing the efans was definitely easier than the cam, very simple and straight forward, but the rewards from the cam are so much more. I consider a cam more of a must have, and fans just kinda nice to have IMO.

Well said. I noticed barely any difference with the e-fans (2 pin setup) and zero change in MPG, however, my A/C cools off much faster in the summer when I turn my truck on, which in Houston, is definitely a big plus with our summers. I am sure it draws more air through my h/e too, but that probably only helps with recovery time rather than lowering IATs.

ive noticed alot of you saying you can get efans for 100 bucks. where? all the ones i see on here are like 300???

If you check out Corvetteforum.com they seem to be going cheap. Saw a cam for 70 on there.

You prob have the 34" radiator and need to go with 05 fans. Check the junk yards via car-parts dot com and find yourself a set.

you guys have any idea how much amperage the efans pull? just trying to figure out how big of a relay i would need.

Not sure how many amps they pull, but my Nelson harness came with 30/40 amp 5 pin relays, and I'm currently using 20/30 amp 5 pin relays (2 of my originals went bad), and the 20/30's have been working well for the short while that they've been in there. I've been running the AC non stop and the weather has been in the 90's, so the fans have been working overtime.

And yes, the AC is kick ***, even at idle.

Probably not with an ls6 cam, but with my cam, I had to increase the IACs when the fans are on to reduce engine surging.

I'll agree with Scott, fans first IMO. I noticed it revs faster and less "sluggishness"...also not hearing the tornado like sound when the truck is hot. It's a cheap enough mod and it supports the other cheap mods. Why not do them at the same time? Like said already, what's another 150-200 for harness ad fans when you already save up 500-600 for cam swap. My .02

I haven't done a cam swap yet so I can't speak for that.
