cam and converter question

Hey I was trying to save him time and money.. my truck is my dd.. started on a 2600 on a 212/218 then 3200 on 212/218 then 3200 on 217/223 now going on a 222/226 on a 3600.. he already has plans on a bigger cam might as well stall it good.. lol

lmao true! but its all in what he likes. best place to start is drive a truck with a 3200 then a 3600. id try an drive it for 2 days each honestly and see how your gonna like it. do it in stop and go traffic too so you can see how annoyed you may get or how much you'll enjoy it. the looser the converter the more your driving habits will change!

I think 3600u is alot but once. U have been on a 3200 its just a baby step... I've driven trucks on 3600 and honestly liked it alot.. I guess that loose feeling doesn't get to me since its just a Lil more then what im already use too.. I do know many wouldn't do one from a stock converted tho....

It all comes down to how fast you wanna go, if you want the most performance out of your setup a larger converter will be your best bet. If you want a peppy truck but not worried about max performance then go smaller. Sure the smaller verters drive better in town. Its all in what you want.

yeah but im a broke **** so i want it to city drive descent ya know? i went from a 3200 to a 3600 and it was fun 1/4 mile wise until i started getting walked by trucks i use to stroll on. thats when the 3600 and 4:10 combo really started to upset me

Wait ur 3600 4.10 combo has no top end? Or what so do u mean people walk on u when u use to roll on them? From a dig or on a roll?

Converter efficiency is key, an efficient converter won't lose any top end pull for the most part, but a lot of them do. There are a few good mfgs that have converters that hit hard and pull strong all the way through. Im a broke **** too!!! My truck is still managing 19-20ish on the highway and 17-18 mix!

take skipperdaddy and i raced when i had a 3200 4:10 combo. he always shot out 2 trucks no matter what but i would reel him in like he's sitting still! went to the 3600 i never left his side no matter what speed we went from. i didnt lock my converter bc it was a single disc.

Yank and circle d are suppose to be the tighter converters. my circle d didnt flash to a 3600 but itd flash 3400ish and it was just enough at the track for me to run how i wanted on the street. my next converter will be a Circle D 3200 triple disc i plan on towing with my CC again.

Mine is loose as hell on the street but once it hits, it pulls good all the way up to the shift point. TCI's suck, they hit pretty good and then they are done.
