Default cam or converter??

Hey guys, i have been throwing around the idea or a cam(212-218) or a 2600-2800 circle d converter... cam i can install myself, the converter i would take somewhere to have put in. what is your alls opinions on which i should get first. a trutrac would be next since the converter will prob tear the stock rear end apart! can anyone send me the link to Ron's for that trutrac? Thanks

Id do a stall. Id also recommend a 3k circle d. Its a great converter and im still on the stock cam and rearend (non g80).
With the circle d and 100shot it feels real good

A cam that conservative you can get by without a stall for a little bit. But obviously the stall will compliment the cam and will come eventually.

With that If they need to be done separately I'd say stall first.

I did gears stall/trans and now I'm doing heads and cam and lowering kit/suspension that's how I would go.

depends what the majority of your driving is like. my mileage average didn't drop at all after installing the circle d, 19-20mpg average every tank, with about 15-20 min of rush hour traffic everyday. but most of my mileage is 65-70mph so the converter is locked and mileage isn't affected by it. the converter will not affect your differential in any adverse way.

Yeah keep the 3.42s.
I lost alot of MPGs because all i do is now lol
Taking it easy id say i only lost about 2-3mpg city at 13mpg and kept the same highway at around 19mpg.
Its hard for you guys to compair because of my weight. On a skinny day she weighs 5400lbs. The weight/gearing/tire size actually makes the converter about a 3400-3500rpm. Its all gonna vary. All in all I love it and makes me smile

alright thats not too bad i guess. i have my motorcycle for fuel mileage. lol so with a 3000rpm stall you can sit still will the engine turning at 3000 and brake applied then let go and it shoots off? right? still trying to understand
