Damn, stock looking truck with a 422 should be pretty fun.

What are the specs on the T-rex?

99-T-ReX v.2 Thunder Racing Custom Camshaft - T-ReX v.2 - 242/248 - .608/.612 - 110 lsa 3500-6700 RPM Power Band. Violent mid-range & high RPM power. Requires computer tuning, 4000+ converter on autos, 4.10's or greater on manual trans cars. Due to the fast ramp rate of this camshaft, the use of 1.8 rockers is not recommended. Due to the extreme nature of this camshaft, piston to valve clearance must be verified when using modified cylinder heads.

VHP double-springs are good for .650, and don't require maching.

Does dispacement really make that big of a difference?

I know tbyrne is running a small 206/212 (I believe) in his 496" motor.

What are the stock cams in those motors? (The 8.1's)

You might also want to look into TSP's custom cams. They have one that's a bit smaller than the T-ReX, the 231/237 595/598 112LS. It'll be more nitrous friendly if you do decide to spray down the road.
