Default Which cam for 4.8l?

I'm not wanting to build a race truck, but would like more low-end, and mid-range torque for towing. My truck is a reg cab short bed '03 with the 4.8 and 3.42's, I tow a 6.5 x 12' tandem axle trailer almost daily with my pressure washer on it...(3,500lb. total?) and, am looking at picking up a Cobra around Christmas, so my truck must be able to pull that..which, I am sure it will now, but I would like a little more oomph doing so. What I am looking for is; 1.) A cam I can run with my stock converter. 2.) A cam that I will not have a lot of driveability issues from. Other mods planned are Longtubes, and a corsa cat-back, oh...and deleting my cats, of course...aside from that, only a couple of visuals, 20" MB Motoring wheels, and a little lowering. Now, my truck only has 9k miles on it, and I have an extended warranty til 85k (rollover from trade-in truck) so, this is kinda scary as I'm giving up a pretty badass warranty for this. My old Trans Am, ran a Lunati custom grind...it was a "stealth" cam, that put down decent numbers, and I ran cc 918's with it, and put over 20k miles on the springs and never had a problem from them...and, my tq. was at 330 ft. lb. at 2,800 rpm, and climbed from there, til 6,800, and the car idled completely stock...is there something out there like this for these trucks?

Also, if I had to use a Stall with a cam, how would my tranny handle the stall and towing ? I've heard that is a quick way to kill a transmission, due to excessive heat build-up, but what do I know?

Thanks In Advance Guys,
Jason

Naked AV has one that would probably be good, I think it is a 208/212 on a 115..
Any way you go you should get the biggest tranny cooler that you can fit and a shift kit. Some good Long tubes would be good as well as a new tune. That should give you about as much as you are going to get from a 4.8 while staying N/A.
BTW, those 20's are going to feel like you are towing a trailer. Might I suggest something in a lightweight Centerline?? I wish I wouldve gone with those

Well, I had liked the MB Wheels...can't think of the name at the moment, but I was looking in the classifieds section, and there is a fella...blown 5.3? Or, something like that..has a black RCSB 2000 chevy with a blown 6.0 in it...had some 20" Centerline's on it..and, I really liked how those look...thin 6-spoke design. What is a good cooler to go with, size wise, and ditto on the shift-kit...are their actually decent shifting kits, or are they all really firm or hard shifts that bark the tires just driving around?

Thanks Again..I'll PM him later, about that cam.

Those are the same wheels I want. Get the biggest tranny cooler you can fit. Mine takes up most of the area behind my grille and keeps my temps (on factory gauge) around 150-160 even on 95* days. I dont have much stop and go though. Dont use any accumulators and have the shift firmnes set back to stock for the shift kit.

Vinci makes a cam that is intended for towing and noticeable power increase over stock, and you can still use the stock converter. The cam that I will be installing (check my sig) is very similar, just slightly larger. I'm gonna keep my stock converter as long as this is my only form of transportation, or until the trans takes a poop. Probably most definitly going to eventually get some sort of tune if I can manage to put some jack aside for it.
