Default bullets to replace cats?

this is my dilema as for now, i was given 2 3" dynomax bullets and i had recently bought 2 cut outs. i really want the cut outs on the truck so the thing is can i replace my cats with my bullets? the thing is im afraid of using the bullets as mufflers but if i have the cut outs there wont be a diffrence between open or closed cut out with the bullets as mufflers. i still do alot of highway driving. what are your thoughts of this set up: manifold then to cut outs then to bullets(as cats) then the the muffler. let me know what will yall do? sorry if i made it complicated i just need some guidance and help

thanks in advance
charly

I don't see why you couldn't do that if there's enough room, seems like it may be tight trying to fit 2 bullets and 2 cut outs in the y-pipe. There will be a difference with the cut outs open or closed with the bullets as mufflers, as there will be the extra piping as well as the bullets, which will cancel some of the exhaust noise believe it or not.

How loud do you want it when the cutouts are closed? Setup #2 looks like it would be loud. I like setup #1...it has the bullets and the muffler so that it's not annoyingly loud at all times, but you can open the cutouts when you want to hear it scream

I like setup #1. I think it would be comparable in loudness as current set up. Those cats are pretty straight thru as well.

Set up number 1. Seems like the right way to go. I have The weld race mufflers 3in and 3out with no cats and it gets pretty damn loud when you put your foot in it and it rumbles pretty good at idle too. Also, highway speeds aren't too loud, you wouldn't think it was cammed at all with agressive exhaust cruising between 60 and 70.
