Thanks for all the compliments. I just wanted to make it clear that I am not a sponsor here and did not mean to pee in anyone's cherios. Just sharing my header upgrade. Hopefully nobody got all butthurt too bad. And I'm not trying to sell anything... Here are some more pics. They are finished and in the truck. For some reason the finished coated pics dissappeared from my camera. IDK..

A lot of times people always get hung up on headers needing to be stainless. I don't have to worry about mild steel rusting out in a year or two.

I'll take some tomorrow. I wasnt very happy about denting the tube a little. Its hardly any at all. But there was just physically no room for it to clear. I didn't feel like taking a chunk of frame out. Hopefully the little dent doesn't affect flow.

Yes they were schoenfelds. I talked to them a few times and they had no interest in building 1 7/8 much less 2". So i did the next best thing.

Oh ok. Im hoping to get a gen III or IV in my 89 next summer. There werent any other headers that fit? Like some f body headers or anything? Or did you just not want to mess around trying them?

If you were to make another set of those headers how much would you want?

Oh. As long as I've lived in the rust belt, it didn't even enter my mind that you might not. Or maybe it won't even be on the road. Anyway, if I could do work like that, I would not use stainless either, because I'd put those headers in a display case.
