Question build advise for my 5.3

Ok guys, kinda new to site and been playnig around here lately. Ive decided to just build up my 5.3 for now (out of an 03 silverado 2wd reg cab). So Im looking for some advise on a good combo. Ive already ordered my pacesetter longtube & o/r ceramic headers. so now the good stuff. This is what IM looking to do with your guys advise.

1: my longtubes and o/r pipe
2: heads ( also want to bump CR up a little, but stay on pump gas)
3: cam
4: efans
5: custom tune
6: lower thermastate
7: intake <maybe>

tell me what you guys think. I'll post results of combo when done too
thanks guys

Something to the degree of an XR265 CompCAMS wiggle stick with .550 lift springs and a tranny cooler. That's what I would do first. Cam and tune go hand in hand regardless so plan those together. If money allows I'd find a good set of heads and mill them down for 10-10.5:1 compression, anywhere in there will allow for cheap gas with a good tune. Later on the heads will compliment the cam even better provided you don't go overboard. Ported and polished 241's would be nice and they're easy to find in the classifieds. Just mill those down to a smaller CC combustion chamber and you'd be set.

well I went ahead and order these with a custom comp cams bump stick, 218 222, 113 LS or something like that. I post exact specs when i get it. Heads will be milled down a little to get CR ratio up along with port CNC work. Need to find a good stall now

on my 5.3 i went with a 220/220 .581/.581 cam. i loved it. and honestly, i wish i went bigger with the cam. but that is a pretty reasonable DD cam. and i think your gonna wish you went bigger on your cam as well lol

well the thing is, that truck got totalled about two and a half weeks ago. so i never got to run the truck. i wanna say that i was putting down around 320-330 or so to the wheels but i never knew. and with that set up it should of been mid to maybe low 13's in the quarter. the yank 3000 was great i loved it
