Default broken head bolt

i just recently broke the head bolt closest to the intake manifold. was wondering what would be the easiest way to get it out and what to torque the top ones to. nothing just never goes right for me. i am about ready to put the 4.8 back in, and forget about going fast.

dude that really sucks. you're probably going to have to drill it out then put in a helicoil. i'd just be very careful whatever you do

THIS is what I am worried about happening what I use stock head-bolts !!!!, I can't seem to get anyone to ship me ARP bolts in a reasonable amount of time so I'm forced to use the stockers

HOW did you break it ??????.....was it during the torque/twist sequence ????

Had a similar thing on my build. Luckily there is no oil control or significant sealing going on in that region and the just the bolt head twisted off. They are TTY and very soft. The torque spec of 22 ft/lbs is hard to get right with the soft bolts and aluminum heads. Plus make sure you torque them LAST, after applying the required torque and rotations to the large head bolts.
To be honest you can run it no problem with the one broken stud, just work on it next time the heads are off.
