So once I get the engine out how hard is it going to be swapping the crank? Pretty straight forward just time consuming or one of the hardest things to do?

I’ve seen it before when someone used an ARP bolt that was too long, allowing it to bottom out in the bolt hole, basically friction welding itself into the bottom of the bolt-hole. It too broke when trying to remove it, causing the need to replace the crank. The individual wouldn’t have likely even known, had the balancer been pulled all the way down, but it wasn’t and he was throwing belts faster than he could put them on.

You'll want to have the replacement crank polished, install all new crank bearings, and plastiguage every journal, to make sure it's right.
