Default Brian tooley stage 3 truck cam

So an update on my truck! Shes back together and tuned!! Glad to say after 300k my bottom end looks damn good! Went ahead and resealed the motor and did a Stage 3 truck cam and home ported my heads a little and polished to help a little! Sounds good but doesnt have that little lopey idle. Set at 750ish rpm idle with the stall?. Made 355rwhp/340rwtq.

With this cam i lost no low end power or torque anywhere in the rpm range. Even below 2500 i was still up 10 tq and 20 hp. The power band is smooth and it set at 6400 rpms shifting and my injectors are maxed out.

You should be able to lower your idle a 100 rpm or so. That will help get some of that lopey sound your after. There are other tuning parameters that affect it as well but that's the easiest place to start....

Can try working with the idle spark overspeed and underspeed table. Supposedly that can make it idle smoother or rougher. Take away from one table and add the same to the other. Sounds like some nice results from that cam. How about an idle clip?

On a different site they say .... Adjust the idle overspeed and underspeed timing tables. Take the overspeed and subtract another 10* and add 10* to the underspeed

to get lope on stock cam

ive done it its pretty cool

My guy said that the rpm idle cant go much lower without stalling since it is my DD. It does have a nice slight lump to it but nothing massive or great and it has to be in Nuetruel ot park.

Power wise it is not a top end screaming cam. As it does still make great power 355@6100 rpms i lost nothing on the low end. Pulls hard till redline. Will be looking at a tbss intake and 4 bolt throttle body w/link. Heard those are trash tho.
I will post idle vid. Wont let me do it from my phone for file crap. Probably post one to youtube and transfer the file.

Need to adjust the throttle cracker and follower, and of course the base running airflow table needs to be correct first.

i tuned my buddies tsp228- to idle at 750 with a loose 3200 stall

you can rev it and let of gas fast in gear and it catches at 500 rpms and goes right back to 750- 850 with Ac on

Okay guys so this a warm start and idle. Its set at 750 at idle. Doesn't seem to lope at all. I emailed my tuner and asked him about the lope that everyone else has. My buddy and an SS Silverado with the same mods but LQ9 and his lopes harder than mine and the same tuner did it.. Anything I can say to my tuner to not make me seem like a picky *** customer?? haha

If you just want it to lope at idle in park, there is no issue lowering the idle down to 600-650.

Imma see what he can do for me. He was worried about it stalling out, but then he says its too small of a cam to have a lopey idle too. Those two things dont make since to me, but yet im not a tuner either
