Default Brakes acting funny after 408

I was putting off on dealing with this for now, but it nearly got me in a wreck today lol..

Alright.. Ever since I put in the 408(ms3 camshaft) I have had my brakes working kinda funny.. Sometimes I will push them in and it acts like theres no fluid and i have to push it in all the way to stop, like there is no line pressure.. Any idea why? Is it related the vacuum perhaps?

How would I fix this?

yes, it is because of lack of vacuum.

swap to a hydroboost setup from a 2500hd truck

does your truck have the vacuum pump on the brake booster line like the 2003 trucks? is it reconnected?

That's not the problem. The problem lies within the fact that his cam is huge so his truck isn't creating vacuum for the brake booster. I have the same problem with my 5.3L and 224/224 every once in a while. Your truck won't build up brake pressure when you are accelerate and try and stop real quick.

I've had 3 incidents where I had to slam on the parking break in order to avoid hitting the person in front of me.

What you need to do is find a hydroboost setup like Nightrunner suggested. You can find these of all 2500hd/3500hd or most newer SUV's have them there may be other vehicles that have this setup, but you can find them for under $100 if you search on car-part.com or sometimes on ebay.

All you need is the hydroboost, and all lines that go to it. There is one line you'll need to T off of but other than that it's a direct swap, no new master cylinder is needed as well.

Alright, will it require any special tuning or is it plug and play like most parts for these trucks?

I know what you're talking about, I've had one too many "OH SH*T!" moments with my brakes. I just bought some SS brake lines, if those don't fix it I'm goin on a search for a hydraboost set up. Does anyone have pics of one?

Since were on brakes and 408's I'm having problems with my rear pads running out to quick. I think it's cause of burn outs and I have heard of something called line lock. Anyone using this?

All a line loc does is bypass the brake fluid to the rear brakes.

The problem happened again today... It seems to happen after about 20 miles or so of driving. I guess I'm going to try the hydrobooster. Anyone have a part number? Also, whats involved on the install? Is this a part I would swap, or is it an add in?

Thanks for the help,
