At least if it implodes I can only blame myself.

On your color I am certain your interior is the same tan as my 05 Sierra's is. The Denali has different seat covers and console but the rest isn't anything special. Tan isn't easy to find.... but I find it more often than not in SUV's over pickups. Pick and Pull might even have something.
The guy at Moretto was very straight up, he said the reman engines they sell are built in Texas and are about as cheap as they come.

Taking that into consideration, I've started to come up with a plan of attack for this thing. I tried to start it last night to move it, and whichever cylinder(s) is burning the coolant is now hydro locked. So it's completely bricked at the moment.

I'm going to pull the heads off pretty quick and see what's going on in there. And judging by what shape the heads are in, possibly rebuild them with stiffer springs.

The bottom end i will lift out and roll into my garage to strip down and check for damage. At which point I'll get the block and crank machined, and start putting together a short block with a decent cam in it. At which time I'll also pull the 4L65e apart while it's there, put in rebuild kit, corvette servo, and inspect everything.

The good news is, I started ripping off the chrome crap and detailing the interior and with the help of some hot water and degreaser, it's coming along nice. It's kind of inspiring when it begins to look like something I would drive.
