02-05 Chevrolet Trailblazer/GMC Envoy/ Buick Rainier/Oldsmobile Bravada: Engine Stalls When Air Conditioning Is Turned On at idle
.
The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom described in the PI.
Condition/Concern:
Engine may stall with the air-conditioner on and or while adding additional loads to the engine at idle. A example of an addition load would be turning the steering wheel left or right with the air-condition on. This type of stall usually occurs during idle or slow parking lot maneuvers. This concern may not set any diagnostic trouble codes.
Recommendation/Instructions:
Clean the throttle body bore and the throttle valve plate using a clean shop towel with GM top engine cleaner, GM P/N 1052626 (Canadian P/N 993026) or AC-Delco Carburetor Tune-Up Conditioner, P/N X66-P, or an equivalent product.
.
Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance.
Models:
(02 - 05 Chevrolet Trailblazer and Trailblazer EXT) and (02 - 05 GMC Envoy, Envoy XL and Envoy XUV) and (02 - 05 Oldsmobile Bravada ) and ( 04 - 05 Buick Rainier)

Also with the mileage I would be changing the air filter, fuel filter, clean the throttle body and clean the injectors

P0171 and p0172 fuel trim lean and fuel trim rich on bank one. the fuel filter has been changed twice already, i have a aftermarket cai on it and the filter is pretty clean (not oilly either),
throttle body could be cleaned but it isn't dirty like ours get when the egr is still hooked up. injectors probably need cleaning too.
the main problem is when my wife drives to work and lets say she has half a tank of gas, the needle goes to empty and the TB acts as though it is running out of fuel. At this point, i am thinking i have a bad fuel pump. but who knows.
thanks Randy
btw, this is goshawk23, explorer won't log me in as goshawk23 and i am too lazy to open up firehawk or what ever the other browser is.

just got done doing some logging via predator. looks like the 02's are not doing their job. at normal throttle they are where they should be, but any acceleration and wot they go to 20, 30 and 100 and 600 respectively. i was hoping my 02's from my truck would fit but they don't. well they do but where they plug in won't fit.
and this might be the problem but it might not be, when i went to remove the 02 from the manifold, it almost felt as though it wasn't even in there tight. so i am gonna reinstall and see what happens.

2002 and 2003 Models Equipped with the VIN S 4.2L LL8 Engine - SES Light due to DTC P0171
The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in the PI.
Condition/Concern:
Service Engine Soon Light due to DTC P0171.
Recommendation/Instructions:
If the related SI diagnostics do not identify a concern, the following information may help:
Check for a skewed ECT or IAT sensor by making sure that they are within a few degrees of each other prior to a cold. If one of the sensors is skewed, replace it.
Check for a skewed MAP sensor at idle and KOEO. The PCM uses the MAP sensor as a fuel control input since this engine does not have a MAF sensor. If the MAP sensor is skewed, the PCM may mis-fuel the engine. If necessary, compare the MAP sensor value to a known good vehicle to confirm sensor accuracy. If a skewed MAP sensor is found, replace it.
Inspect for obvious vacuum leaks at the throttle body, intake and PCV hose between the #3 and #4 intake runners. If there are no vacuum leaks found, remove the throttle body and inspect the throttle body gasket to make sure that it is not rolled. A rolled seal could cause an intermittent or hard to find vacuum leak. If the throttle body gasket is rolled, replace it.
Clean the fuel injectors using the procedure found in bulletin 03-06-04-030. If cleaning the fuel injectors corrects the concern, refer to 04-06-04-051A, which relates to maintenance cleaning of the fuel injectors to prevent a reoccurrence. Also, make sure that the customer is using gasoline from a high quality, high volume filling station.
Inspect for the oxygen sensors for contamination. If contaminated, isolate the reason for contamination by inspecting for contaminated gasoline, coolant consumption or previous repairs where silicone may have lead to the oxygen sensor contamination. If a concern is found, repair the cause for contamination as necessary.
Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
