Let me google that for you
I think this question has been asked & answered a thousand times here, and on Tech. Not trying to be a dick, but there's a big ole search button up there on your screen.
To directly answer your question, 3.907". If you wanna go farther, you'll need to have it sonic tested for cylinder wall thickness.

wiseco is I think the only 4.8/5.3 "specific" pistons with the 3.78-3.80" bore. The $7xx price is ridiculous, ls1 bores are cheaper sometimes. Im trying to find a sponsor that will take my rotating assembly from my 383 ls1 (4.000" eagle crank, 6.125" scat h-beams, 3.903" Mahle pistons) and put it in my old 5.3 block. Funds are extremely tight & using the 5.3 block would save having to buy a 6.0. Everybody's excuse is used parts, then they say they're not comfortable going over stock ls1 bore (3.898"). I've read max bore on the 5.3 is everywhere from 3.898-3.907". Guess it's who you talk to...
Good luck and let us know what you end up doing.
