Default boosted 5.3 vs. N/A lq9 6.0L

hey guys, i am stuck in a pickle on what i would like to do next to my truck. Currently my setup is in my sig. I know the 4l60e wont handle much more power thrown at it, especially a radix. But i am gettin annoyed of having a higher stall converter for commuting around the city. i was throwing around the idea of putting an 80e with a small stall(2000rpms) instead of my 2600 stall currently. But that is alot more tranny to turn out of a 5.3. I could also boost it as well, preferably a radix.

I also am throwing around the idea of picking up a vortecmaxx lq9 i have found, and putting the 80e that i have found, with a 2000 stall in it. Sawpping over my z06 cam in the lq9 as well. The truck is mainly for daily commuting, but do pull trailers quite a few times a year. I want very good daily manners, not be killing gas mileage, but still have enough power on tap to take it to the track, or do some stoplight racing. with a 6.0Land 80e, i can always add boost later if i get bored.
The 5.3 has potential too, i just want alot of torque under the 3500rpm mark.

suggestion??

5.3 with a blower will have a lot more torque than a NA 6.0, especially under 3500rpm

yeah i think either way the 80e i am looking at getting is a winner, for power and towing purposes. I mean my 5.3 is setup with the cam already, just lloking for a great torque curve under 3500 rpms. I have seen a dyno graph of a few members with the TVS1900 and 5.3 put down some great numbers, and good looking torque curves with their setup. I am not out to break the bank either. thats why the vortecmaxx motor with a good torque cam would be a great combo as well. It would probably make around 350RWHP with a good tune. Which seems like a good DD.
Not sure, gotta weigh the pros and cons,

If you're dead set on the 80E, I'd do the 6.0 then put a huffer on that. Tom fastnblu is putting a Radix on his 5.3 in front of a 60E, but it's an FLT Level7 65E with a 2600 converter. I'm surprised that you're fed up with the 2600, that isn't a lot of converter...I didn't even know that anybody offered a converter that stalls as low as 2k.

its not a terrible converter, just with 33's its hard on the motor and tranny. The 2000rpm converter is supposedly a hughes converter. I think it will work well under boosted load.

I ran a 408 with a tvs1900 for a while on a basically stock 60e, youll be fine if you are gentle with downshifts and dont drive like an idiot.

Just buy a used 112 for your 5.3 and for a budget build you will have gobs of torque off idle and you can keep the 2600 stall which will work perfect with the radix.

i know it is such a hard decision. I am just worried about the tranny takin a **** on me as my DD. I mean it has around 15,000 miles and has all the neccessary precautions a 60e should have, but takin a chance may prove to be carnage. the only thing with the 80e is the parastatic loss. HMMMMM what to do???

Compared to a 60E's first gear it's tall. TH350/400 have the same first gear ratio and no one complains about them. At least it's not like a powerglide, 1.76:1 first gear...
