from what i have read, tuning software has a fairly steep learning curve, but once you get past that curve, it it fairly easy and fun to use

i'm planning on HP tuners myself, my dyno guy uses it and he's willing to tech me so its an easy choice. as for the CFM on your fans, i bought the flex-a-lite untis, which are a little overpriced, but the dual fan setup flows 5600 cfm which is definately excessive. they do have a low range which is about right, but i just leave them cranked and that seems to work the best.

I run a 12" and 14" summit brand fans, I live in texas and it gets hot I had no problem with overheating in 100+ temp with the AC on sitting in traffic.

decide which program you are going to use, either hptuners or efilive and then go to their forum and read up. ex. : hptforums or efiliveforums.

i do know that the fords use a completely different set of tuning software but you could probably take the general knowledge and apply it to the other software.

x2 for HPtuners. EFILive is a great product too. From my experiences the tech support and knowledge on the forums for HPTuners is wonderful. Plus the tune repository really helps you see what people are modding in their tunes and what not.
pm me if you have any questions.
