Default Blue 42, Green 14 (03 PCM)

ok check it out.. I've been researching on this for daaaaays.

THis is what I'm comming to..

I have a TA efans set up to a dlh2006 wiring harness. The main voltage source is tapped into the fuse block bolt, the ground on the alternator, the temp sensor wire on pin 42 on blue connector, and the ac wire on well.. the ac wire..

now when the ac clicks on its enough of a drag on the system as it is let alone having the fan on that same wire. I'm told by SEVERAL people that its REALLY stressful on the system and I definitly notice. I notice half the time the fan will actually come on. 75% of the time if the engine is cool and the ac clicks on.. I will not get a fan on.. THEREFORE warm air blows out the vents.. engine revvs by itself compressor constantly keeps clicking on and rpm's drop and I lose acceleration power when I try to accelerate.

Basically what I'm trying to do is take the ac wire from the harness off the ac wire on the truck.

Now from what I understand '05 silverado's are set up with pin 42 (temp sensor) and pin 33 (ac pressure).

I got a pin layout from chevy today at a dealer of what all the pins take care of on an '03 pcm. Pin 14 on the green connector controls "A/C Refridgerant Pressure sensor signal" what would I happen if I sliced the ac wire from the harness onto pin14's wire. Would this work?

Or should I talk to nelson about making a certain unused pin take care of this.. I need to figure this **** out.

I guess I don't understand the problem. I have an 03 with ls1 fans and I am tapped into the ac wire with no problems. I don't see how it could add much of an additional electrical load to the system tapping into the ac wire, as all that is used for is to activate a relay which has very little current draw. Sounds more like you may have a bad relay or something. Also the pcm shuts off the ac compressor above a programmed tps position and rpm so it shouldn't affect wot performance.

just curious, are you still running the factory 105 alt? do you have a large audio system or anything else that requires a lot of electrical draw?

actually ya I'm still running the stock alt.. and yes I am running audio system (500 watt) and a few other accessories that I added.

ou suggesting I upgrade the alt? I'm already looking into it. would it fix this and guarentee the fans turn on 100% of the time?

The bigger alt should really help out your electrical system, make sure and upgrade your wires.

Heres a link: https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...ht=alt+upgrade

As far as your fans: If they don't come on when they should with the a/c or engine temp. Something may be wrong with your relays or connections.

I will definitly look into that..

but in the mean time.. there's got to be a way to hook this up like the '05's did. Which is why I was asking about pin 14 on the green connector (C2). Or should I just call my tuner and ask him to make an unused pin do the AC part.

Pin 14 Green - AC Refridgerant Pressure Signal
Pin 42 Blue - Engine Temp

Talk with Allen to see what he says sbout the other pin, but it not that much work to hook it to the trigger wire on the compressor. Works just as well as it would if you hook it in the PCM itself. It just sends a signal to your relay which does the rest.
