Re: blower only ET reductions, whipple, radix, ati.......
there is alot of FI going on around here now, anychance we can get a list of peoples ET reductions with a blower only change? it probably wont be a very consistant list since most people dont start with a blower on a stock vehicle and then there is the traction issue but we can try. all i hear anymore is RADIX, RADIX, RADIX, so lets see some numbers.
stock 99 ext cab 4wd... 16.7
add whipple at 6psi.... 15.3 (1.4sec reduction)
then add everything else, 6.0, headers, tuning, efans, posi, stall, 8psi with good gas... 12.77
whos next?

I love it. I just see some little Honda with a fart pipe, and a wing and the GTR badge just getting his a$$ handed to him by a 2500HD and then doing a ricer fly by.

Give it time..... I am sure they will be close, that guy that is 12.XX has a crew cab, wonder what a regular cab will do, I bet with compunds and some work they'll go 10's

Parish,
Nice choice in trucks but you should look at a Duramax with allison. One fueling box, one beefed up tranny and custom cold air and you would be into the mid 12's.

I'd bet a reg cab DMax/Allison would get probably into the high to mid 11sec range fully built...maybe faster I too don't really care about 1/4 mi times as opposed to stop light racing street applications are totally different than strip.
A fully built Allison is about $5700!!! But you'd have to have insane power levels to break that beast. With the upgraded three clutch lockup converter and valve body build I'd say it could last for a long time.
I was torn for a while between a worked over 8.1 + Whipple VS a DMax. I just can't see myself getting 8-10mpg city/14mpg freeway vs 16mpg city/21mpg freeway. Besides I could make about as much power with both combos. Depends on if I feel like gassing up that truck all the time for gas power. Diesel fuel is slightly cheaper, motor is far more durable, and has better economy...what more can ya ask for?

2002 chev. 4x4 single cab short bed.
15.78 stock
14.97 whipple and torque manegement removed
about 8 10ths of a second faster. not impressive at all. still trying to figure that one out.
maybe it was the 90 degree heat outside????

Re: blower only ET reductions, whipple, radix, ati.......
See, I'm glad to see this topic... I am considering something (sort of) similar myself. My current thoughts are:
- '00 or '01 single cab 4WD V8 truck
- iron block stroker (4" bore, 4" stroke, 402 ci; @10:1 compression)
- worked heads of some flavor (maybe GM ported LS6 heads?? maybe see how the AFR heads do??)
- relatively mild cam (something like 224/230, 600-ish lift on a 114)
- Either Kenne Bell or Whipple charger, preferably w/ intercooling (I wonder if MagnaCharger would sell just the intake/IC...; 10 psi)
- 2600 or 3000 stall converter
- 4.10 gears, 32-33" tall tires
I would think that a setup like that could make an easy 500 RWHP and 500 RWTQ, with PLENTY of area under the curve. I already have a H/C '01 Z28 so it's not like I would need it to be all that quick, but I'd like something that'd get out of it's own way and still be able to cruise, tow, and jump in a mud pit on occasion...
What do you guys think, realistic plan, or...??
