Why not run a Radix intake and intercooler with a 3300R Whipplecharger on a 422 cid iron block with ported 6.0 heads.I think you would be looking at 1000hp potential.

Hit man i brought something up like you are talking about a while back. i figured get a blowzilla and use all the radix stuff but just reolace the eaton compresor with the kb one. I did a lot of research and figured you could do it with a couple custom parts. Dont think it would be all that hard but also not easy. Any ways for the price you could have a custom turbo setup.

Parish8 why not buy the lightest truck you can fabricate a 4 link rear suspension and add a stronger rearend and transmission, that would be easier to run 10s with and make one heck of a street racer.4200lbs divided by 650hp equals a 6.46lbs per hp while 5400lbs would take 836hp to make the same power to weight ratio.I think with a trip or two to the junk yard the lighter truck would be cheaper too.

here is the deal, i beat EVERYONE i raced on the street with a truck that did at best a 11.7, and why is that, 4wd, no one else could hook on the street and i could. i could build a 2wd, and even get it to hook at the track with slicks and a burn out and all that stuff but what about on the street. i also like the daily driver part and the sleeper look, skinny tires and all. that truck has a strong drive line. believe me i have been thru a 100 decision changes in the last few months and i keep coming back to this truck, my plans for the next truck include... stall, posi in the rear, locker in the front, built motor with ALOT of nitrous and ALOT of boost. i want to beat EVERYONE. on the street that is, there will always be people faster at the track. i have sold off all my other hobbies so i can concentrate on this one, yea i am adicted bad, just look at my post count. , in my new(new to me) HD i see 12's by christmas, 11's by spring and who knows what by fall

Go for Parish8 I'm the one to talk about building a light weight truck while I drive 5700lb Tahoe. But my Tahoe is proof that you can make 2wd truck hookup, just ask guy in the M3 BMW I outran from a stoplight or the SVT Cobra I beat from a roll.Good street radials and a well setup suspension make all the difference.Maybe one night I'll race your truck for the heavyweight championship, the winner could tow the loser home.No lack of towing capasity here.I've never done things the easy way either.Besides a HD will make one hell of a sleeper.

I didn't run the truck stock but I believe a 2500 Suburban with the 8.1 motor runs somewhere in the high 16s (not the fastest big block on the road).

Current mods to run 14.54 @ 93.43 are -

Whipple supercharger with intercooler. Volant induction, TOG headers, stock catback ( I like it quiet), Direct Hits ignition, custom programming and a 2600 stall Yank converter. Truck weight - about 6800lbs.

I think I can fine tune this a little to get into the lows 14s.

Parish,

Nice choice in trucks but you should look at a Duramax with allison. One fueling box, one beefed up tranny and custom cold air and you would be into the mid 12's.
