Is there a way to bleed the fuel rails before disconnecting the fuel lines? Or is there something else to be done?

 

If my dads truck was home Id go out and look on his to confirm this, but I know when I was working at saturn (lol laugh if you want) I had to drain a few fuel rails, there may be a pressure release valve with a cap over it something like on a bicycle tube. Someone else will probably have a better answer for you

 

i posted in your othere post, hes right, theres a pressure relief valve, i believe on the passanger side fuel rail. unscrew the gas cap first then relieve the pressure. there will still be fuel in the rails when you disconnect it but at least its not under pressure.

 

confirmed i've had my rails of 2x

i reccomend a new o ring kit from gm if you have 50k plus miles, they tend to get a lil hard to reinstall

with the truck running pull the fuel pump relay, and let the truck shut off!!!
