Whats the biggest cam anyone is running in an extended cab 5.3 2WD WITHOUT a stalled convertor??
I want personal experience, but I also what to know what you think I should do. I have a 212/218 hilift and I think its just great. I have 4.11s and they do help a lot. I don't really care about being able to spin the tires or off the line performance too much, but I want to be reasonable. I am looking at a TR220 on 114.

I have a 220 on a 112lsa in my 6.0 ecsb. I woudn't want to run it with a stock convertor. I have a 2600 and it does fine but ti's not in the cams real powerband. More like 3000-3200 which is why i am goin to put a 3200 stall in my truck soon.

Ha, no it spins believe me it spins. It's just that once it hits 3000+ the power comes on and comes on hard.
If you want a stock stall why not get a Yank TT3000? I have a Yank TT2600 same line as the 3000.
I would have a 3000 but i bought the 2600 when i still had a stock cammed 5.3
Anyway the Yank TT2600&3000 feel like a stock stall convertor until you drop the hammer. You can still tow the same weight as stock still drives like stock.Just performs once you finally drop the hammer.
The 2600 does soso for me but with a stock stall only goin up to about 1800 or so like it would it's gonna feel really weak till about 3000plus. It just will leave a lack luster there if you keep it stock.
I would go Yank tt stall myself.

I know headers and some kind of aftermarket exhaust would help a lot, cause I know its getting choked as it is. I just like to try something different.
I dont even want to think about a convertor until the tranny takes a ****. Im not going in there and putting the same tranny back.
